The Uglies Series
In completing The Uglies it left me curious to what happens next. Did anyone go onto read the next book in the series. Or even better did anyone choose it as their group book choice? I would be interested in seeing how they enjoyed it in comparison, or would they recommend a completion in reading the series?

Here's a convention we might follow:
If you are going to talk about any major plot resolutions, write ***Spoiler*** so that people can make decisions about whether they want to know what happens before they read the books themselves.
For example, one group is reading "The Watcher" for next week. For me, the pleasure of the book was closely tied to not knowing the ending. If I wanted to write about the book I would probably do an introductory couple of sentences, insert ***Spoiler***, and then go on to say what I thought about the end.
I have not yet read the second book but I definitely intend on reading the rest of the series. I must say that that book was definitely my favorite book this semester and wasn't expecting for their to be a book that I actually would enjoy as much as I did since we were reading children's novel. I've even read it twice just for kicks. Thanx Valerie for choosing a good one! But yeah I am definitely going to complete the entire series!
This book was crazy! It was that I don't think I would have picked up and read if it had not been for this class and it is definitely my favorite book we've read in this class as well as this semester as well!
My group actually is reading Pretties, the sequel to Uglies for our book choice. I am very close to finishing it and I definately would recommend it. I don't want to write anything about the actual plot or what happens, but it is absolutely worth reading. I found it to be interesting right from the start whereas with Uglies it took the first 100 pages for me to really get into it. It is just one of those books that I just can't put down and I am going to finish up the series along with Extras this summer. Go Read It! If you loved Uglies you'll for sure love this one too!!!
I agree with elizabeth w. The second book definitely starts you right into the action, unlike the first. I feel like the pace of the book is pretty fast throughout the entire novel. Right up until the unexpected ending. I definitely recommend that one. I was curious as to whether anyone has read the third book? I'd like to know if they think it's worth reading or not.
I am onto the third book in the series. I started reading pretties at the beginning of last week and couldnt put it down. It made the first book that much more understandable and enjoyable. THere are so many more plots and twists, I truly reccomend it. I am interested if anyone in our class did the Pretties as their group choice, but i dont want to spoil it for everyone, so hopefully no one will go into too many details. But yeah...i give it 2 thumbs up (three if i had more to give). READ THEM!
Definitely would recommend reading Pretties! I already lent it to someone else in the class and she also already completed it! I reall want to read Specials but was waiting to read our group choice. I agree with the last post in that the second book enhances your understanding of the first book. They really fit together and its a very quick read -- I couldn't put it down!!!
Uglies and other books in the trilogy have become very successful books. I agree that the other books look like they would be very fun to read. At first I didn't think I would like The Uglies because I prefer reading non fiction books rather than sci-fi. Once I began reading I got hooked on the plot and couldn't stop reading. When I did my research for my paper and began reading about the other books, it made me want to check out the others.
