I was looking online and I found Oprah’s Kids Reading List. You are able to change the age groups. After changing these groups you can go through a bunch of different books. Each time a new book comes up there is a little about the book next to it. I knew that she had a book club, but I did not know that she had one for children of all ages, as well. I found it very interesting to look at the different books she thought would be good for each group. This is the website if you want to check it out:

I looked through the lists and recognized a lot of the titles. It was interesting to see that the lists have been compiled by different groups each year (the ALA, independent booksellers, "Oprah Moms").
Whenever I see this type of list, I wonder what criteria the different groups used? (I'm also always curious about the diversity of genres, types of people represented, etc. in the set.)
Anyone recognize titles? Do you agree that these are good books? Are there titles you wish would have been included?
Well, I can;t say I recognized all of the titles, but it was fun to browse through the books they felt wee age appropriate for the children.
The Giver's cover looked intense. It made me think back to when I was that age and whether I would have picked up that book or not.
